His work consists of numerous large scale mixed-use master plans including the campus master plan for Loyola Marymount University. For his work, he has received five state and national planning and design awards.

McKinney, Jr., as director, has designed numerous projects in Alabama, South Carolina and Florida. Currently, the firm is producing construction documents on several projects along the Florida panhandle.
